Hypnosis session #3 - Walking Backward Into the Past

Welcome Back!

Now you are used to the pleasures of hypnosis, I want you to enjoy the experience of falling deeply into a state of pure relaxation as soon as you hit my chair!

Conditioning is easy.  Think about famous jingles or commercials you heard 20+ years ago.

Example:  Where's the _____?

You know what this is (if you're an American) as soon as you read it.  So you can know exactly how deep you can go back into a state of wonderful bliss!  It's a conditioning process, except this one is enjoyable and you don't have to bulk up on cheap hamburgers.

In fact, today I want to dissolve all of your fear.  Fear can be a powerful tool but so often it becomes a warden keeping you  from what you truly desire.

Why are we doing all of this?  Because something sucks in your life and you're sick of it.  And yet, it won't change.  Why?  Because there is still some benefit to keep doing the stupid behaviors you are doing.  Putting off is doing something.  We are always doing something even if it's lying around...and eating cookies.  Such delicious cookies!

So for now I just want you to breathe and continue to say over and over in your mind, like an exciting commercial:  "Dissolve all fear!"  "Dissolve all fear!" You will feel different now and better than ever!

Trust that you will have, have had and have all of your resources available to keep you safe and secure.  Remember you are a super genius!  Don't believe it?  Dissolve all the fear associated with believing that if you achieve all that you ever desired in this incarnation something bad will happen.

Dissolve all fear.  Dissolve all fear.

Now I want you to imagine a timeline.  Your past probably goes in one direction and your future off in another.  They tend to be two different experiences (hopefully).  If they aren't, change your orientation so that your past goes off in its most comfortable direction and your future goes off in its most fun direction.

Great!  Now I want you to image that you are either walking or floating backward into the past.  Facing forward toward the present.  Don't peek over your shoulder!  Let whatever shows up, show up.  You will be pleasantly surprised I'll bet!   Remember that that goal of this experience is to dissolve all of your fear.  As soon as a symbol (person, object, gaseous cloud, whatever) appears.  Look at it and asks it or contemplate why it has appeared to you like this.  Is there something yet to heal or resolve?  You'll know.  If nothing else, continue to dissolve all of your fear and pain associated with this if there is any.

Great job and while this is happening now see pleasurable memories pop up so that you can discern between the two and all I ask is that you enjoy these memories to the point where you feel better in your body...5 times better than you've ever felt!

Keep going and going and going!  All the way back to the beginning and beyond.  There is no limit to how much pleasure you can enjoy!  This is a generative process.  In other words, activate and generate pleasurable feelings.  Yes I'm saying, make up over 10,000 pleasurable ideas and memories!

Live the dream!  Be creative and be filled with passion!

Session #2 - Seeing Red and Other Things

Welcome back!

What has been different for your since our last session?  Did you notice any changes?  Size doesn't indeed matter.  Think about how you may have been adjusting subtly over time.  How has that been for you?

Today we're going to do a lot of fun stuff.  The first thing I want to do is go over a list of questions that I am taking from the book, "Finding True Magic" by one of my teachers, Jack Elias (pp 269-270).  In fact, your homework is to buy a journal and answer each one of these questions each morning!  Gauge your resistance to doing this, and gauge your success.

Since we've worked together once, you'll find it easier to access your answers to these important questions.  In other words, don't bullshit yourself!

1.  Assertion, sense of self:  How do you evaluate your sense of confidence in who you are and your ability to affirm that in the assertive expression of your needs and desires?

2.  Sense of self-worth: Do you feel worthy to have a totally abundant life?  How does this correlate with the state of your finances?  Do you feel over- or underpaid?

3.  Communication and mental life:  How would you assess the quality of your mental life and your interpersonal communications?  Are you curious about life?  How frequently are you inquisitive about something new and unexpected in your life?

4.  Home and family of origin issues:  Describe your relationship with your mother.  How does your upbringing mold the way you relate in your current home environment?

5.  Wholeness and creative play:  How do you relate to [your] children [or in general]?  Do you take time out to play; do you have hobbies?  What do you do for fun?

6.  Service and daily routine:  Evalute your managment skills and interest in ordinary daily routines.  Do you enjoy problem solving at home or at work?  Do you like to be of service to others?

7.  Soul-mate and social intercourse:  Do you have a life partner?  Describe:  Yes/no, want/don't want, etc.  Describe your capacity to communicate harmoniously in any form of partnership.  How are your negotiating skills?  Have you ever been in a lawsuit?  If so, how did it go?  How do you relate to it now?

8.  Sex life, joint resources, use of power:  Are you happy with your sexuality?  Are you expressing it in a satisfying way?  If you are in a business partnership, how is it going?  Is it successful financially?  Are  you happy with your understanding of how to exercise power in situations?

9.  Wisdom, higher knowledge, travel:  Are you fulfilled in your spiritual and philosophical interests?  Are questions of deeper meaning and ethics important to you?  Do you travel?  Do you enjoy it?  What about it do you do [don't] enjoy?

10. Career, father:  Are you happy in your work?  Do you consider that you have found your vocation?  Is that important to you?  Describe your relationship to your father.

11.  Friendship, causes, groups:  Do you have close friends?  Are you involved in any causes or group activities?  Describe how they enrich your life.

12.  Transcendence, escape, faith:  Do you engage in any activities that take you out of yourself?  Regularly, or in times of stress?  Evaluate whether you choose beneficial or destructive means; i.e., do you transcend or escape?

Take all of the time you need and I ask that you do this questionare every morning when you first wake up.  This is a private, quiet, and contemplative experience.  Some of these questions may be harder to answer than others, some will feel more weighty.  Recognize that all experiences are beneficial toward you cultivating a deeper sense of who you are.  How can you know what you want and assert what you want unless you give yourself this gift of contemplation?

And yes to answer your question, if you don't do this right, perfect and within the lines, you don't get any dessert and you don't get to go to the carnival!

Okay, so the next idea we're going to enjoy is thus:  Feelings don't mean anything.  Period.  They are just energy.  So now I want you to close your eyes and tune into your mind and find the "areas" where you are saying, "yeah right hippie!"  Notice if you think feeling certain feelings have bad consequences attached to them or good ones.  Imagine that there is sticky glue and you can peel your feelings away from your judgments.  You can notice your feelings without becoming your feelings.  You are not your anger.  You are not your happiness.  Trust this, and trust me, it takes some real practice.  Dont worry, we can have fun doing this?

How?  By seeing red.  From now on, when you see the color red (like a stop sign fer instance), you will remind yourself that you are not your feelings, that you are spacious and free and awake and perfect!  You will see how many different shades of red there are and you will notice that there is a lot of red every where! Think about this.

Enjoy this and do this with wild wonderful abandon and as often as you can!

Our Hypnosis Session #1

I know many of you who read this blog are in parts of the world that are many miles from where I am.

That's okay, because I have designed a series of posts that will replicate what it will be like to have a hypnosis session with me.  We're going to use the power of your imagination to create the belief that you are visting me in my office in Seattle, WA.

I teach improvisational theater and I notice that when I have students pretend that they are professional actors while at home their performances improve greatly.

So we're going to utilize that big powerful brain of yours for the same effect, but with idea that you can resolve any problem, challenge, doubt, worry, fear or whatever that has been plaguing your life.  You can and deserve to have anything you want.

Now some of you have heard my voice before so use my voice for this process.  In fact, you've probably already heard my voice after reading the first words of this post right?

Okay, so let's go through the journey toward my office.  My office is on the second floor of small stucco building built in the 1921.  There is a large neon sign with a cool purple spiral and the words, "HYPNOSIS" written in yellow!

Parking can be challenging to park by the public pool that is right around the corner from my office.

The stair leading up to  my office are in back and you walk in because the door is open.

I greet you and lead you to the "happy" chair which is recliner with a blue slip cover.

You have what it is you want to work on, to change in your life and my first question to all of my clients is:  "How can I help you!"  I'm a guide, you do all of the powerful work.

I explain to you what hypnosis is and what it isn't.  The brain is running programs all day and night and if it is running at a certain speed, it can be challenging to install healthier and more postitive suggestions so hypnosis is a slowing down of the mind and body.  The brain gets to relax and really absorb new and wonderful programs.

I ask you if we can do a hypnotic session and you agree.  So now I sit to your right and hold my thumb in front of your face.  I ask you to stare at the nail with all of your focus and as you do this, you notice that you begin to relax.

Now, I know that you are not going to close your eyes in a moment because you want to read this entire post, you can practice this session at home over and over.

Okay so now I say, "I'm lifting my thumb, stay fixed on my thumb and follow it with your eyes only as I lift it up."  I lift it up to about 30 degrees, your eyes feel a little fatigued.

"In a moment, I'm going to drop my thumb, just allow your eyes to close, you don't have to do anything but let your eyes relax!"

I drop my thumb and you close your eyes.  In fact, I want you to imagine that you are watching yourself close your eyes in your mind.  Observe this happening and notice that if you yawn, you are feeling some of the effects.

"That's right, nice and deep and as you relax, your unconscious mind is already beginning to come up with new and exciting ways for you to resolve this problem of yours and any problems that you didn't want to tell me about. This is a private, profoud and important time for you to do amazing work for yourself!"

Why am I so interested in you?  Because we're all connected and we're all in this together.   Simple.  We can all inspire each other!  And beyond all of that, it's fun to feel amazing isn't it?

"That's right, deeper and deeper still with each wonderful and relaxing breath that you take!  And now I'm going to have you begin to count from 100 down to zero and between each descending number you are going to DOUBLE YOUR RELAXATION so that you will relax out all of the numbers, they will disappear from your mind completely and you will be in such a profound state of calm and peace that you can just enjoy that sensation and when the numbers are gone completely from your mind you can stop counting and relax!"

You count, "100 double relaxation...99....double relaxation...98....double relaxtion...97....and at this point you just stop counting, because the numbers are gone completely and you feel so wonderful!

And then I say, "And now I'm going to count from 10 to 1 and between each number you are going to quadruple your relaxation!  10...9...8"  And you notice that you are slipping out of your chair so I quickly say, "You are so relaxed and you can keep your balance in the chair!  Your feet are flat on the floor and you are stuck sitting in the chair!"  So you readjust and continue to be so deeply relaxed!

You  are now in such a deep state and I say to you, "As  you are now in a such a deep place, you can quickly and easily resolve this issue you can to see my for.  You  resolve all feelings of being victim, that there is some outside force controlling you doesn't make any sense to you anymore, you take full responsibility for every thought, feeling, and memory that you create in your brain.  Because where else are these thoughts, feelings, and memories being created?  Good, I'll give you time to understand this, and when you do, you'll take a deep breath!"

After about 2 minutes, you take a deep breath.  Great job!  So then I say, "Now I want you to create a circle and in it put all of the people with whom you are still waiting to receive love!  Anyone you still hold anger against is in the circle.  Place them there and look at them in the eyes and say, 'I choose to forgive you because I forgive myself for putting into motion the energy that hurt between us!  I love and accept myself and more importantly think I totally rule and am amazing to the point that I will take full responsibility for everything in my life at this point.  I have totally power and love for myself in everyway  and I bless you and see that you can forgive yourself too!"

I then say, "Stay with this until all anger and fear is resolved.  You'll know this when you feel a light sense of freedom wash over your body!"

I then give you as much time as you need!  Minutes seem like hours to you and it feels so wonderful!

And then I say, "In a moment, I'm going to wake you and it will feel like you slept a deep and amazing 19 hours and had a really awesome 17 hour massage!"  And then I count to three and you come wide awake, feel refreshed and rejuvenated feeling like you slept for 19 straight wonderful hours then got a 17 hour massage.  Yeah, I don't deny you the greatest pleasures!

We talk about what you resolved and how there are a lot of new opportunities now in your mind.  I suggest that you give yourself a day off of work where you don't do anything but lie in bed and be waited on hand and foot and in this place you are quite enthusiastic!  You agree whole heartedly.

We schedule to meet next week, which we will, same time, same place and you drive home with all of your faculties, in fact better than you've ever driven.  Knowing that when you get home you will go to these deep wonderful places over and over again as many times as you want and like all things that we learn, it only gets easier over time, you find yourself going there more often and even deeper and more profoundly moving into the future.

Yes?  Yes.  See you next week!
