Laughter is Genetic!

I, being a hypnotist extraordinaire, often get into discussions with people about genetics. I know little to nothing about genetics but I do make grand statements like, "Yes, I believe depression is genetic.  I also believe that laughter and smiling is genetic too!"

Then I start to imagine wars between genes...depression genes versus the laughter genes.  Each holding their own hill in a meadow.  One patch of genes grumbling, lying on cots and wearing goth clothes, the other patch giggling and dressed like Hari-Krishnas.  Which one will win out?

Aristotle said, "Only the human animal laughs."  That's in Wikipedia, but I did read that in high school too.

Here's some cool stuff I got from Wikipedia:

The study of laughter is called, Gelotology.  Is that, "Jell-o"?

It helps the heart, lowers blood sugar and relieves stress!  Read on for more great benefits.

Want to laugh more?

You Just Have to Quit!

Whatever it is.  There is no "being ready".  You just have to quit.  Simple.

But it might not be easy.  In fact, it will probably be hard!  How's that for a marketing technique?

You must understand that whatever you've been stuffing down with food, sex, porn, booze, cigarettes, rage or whatever is all your energy.

Stuff is going to come up and this is the beginning of your process of learning to bless and accept all of your energy.  All of it.

You are inherently pure now!  You are perfect now!  Let go of egoic thought and bless the root of all of your "problems" and "addictions" because they are inherently pure too!

Bless that which terrifies you!  Bless that which horrifies you!  Bless that which screams and kicks and begs and plays victim!  Keep your sense of humor when dealing with tantrum babies.

You are infinitely powerful, so powerful you think that all of this is coming from somewhere else.  Wrong!

Think about this and notice how much you want to either a. tell me to fuck off or b. think I'm full of shit!

Bless those thoughts and keep going!  Everything else other than being quit is an excuse, a fantasy.

You're infinitely Amazing!  Remember this!

Lying

When was the first time you learned that you could lie and get away with it?  How old were you?  What were the beliefs attached to lying in your household/developmental space?  Contemplate these memories.  Meditate on them and ask yourself if the beliefs are still useful.  Do you believe it is important to be able to lie?

The #43 is a Smelly Old Bus!

Riding on the bus really helps me get some ideas clear in my mind.  So does walking.

I was sitting on the bus this morning feeling anxious.  I was feeling that even though everything seems to be going well and right in my life, there is still something wrong.  I feel effed up.  Have you ever felt like this?  Have you ever had a feeling that at any moment everything is going to fall apart?

Breathing deeply helped, but still it felt like something was sticking.  So I stuck with it and this thought popped into my mind:

"We are never not inherently pure, perfect beings.  We only blind ourselves to this truth."

Or if you want to say it like this:  "I am always perfect!  I release all blinders to this truth!"

Remember, you are not your body, your actions, or other people's opinions.  You are not your criminal record or your drug addiction (despite what the "righteous" proclaim).  You are not your past, your present, or your bottom line.  You are not your butt or the mirror you loathe.  You are not your behaviors, your identities, your values or your beliefs!  You are not your goals that you'll never achieve or the ones you settled quickly.  You're not your father's son or mother's daughter.  You are none of these things.  Breathe, let go, and stop tricking yourself.  Remember this always:  You are unknowable and you are WONDERFUL!

Or as I like to say, "You're 99.99999% pure AWESOME potential and .00001% gristle!"

Be courageous, TAKE OFF THE BLINDERS and live!  LIVE! LIVE!!!!

One of my favorite words!

Is EXALT!

Dictionary says:  to elevate in rank, honor, power, etc.

Well, that doesn't describe that feeling of being exalted does it?  What a powerful feeling.  I was thinking about it this morning!  Do you exalt yourself?  Ever?

Do it.  A great way to do it is to never ever put yourself down for even the simplest things.  Create an exalted sense of you.  Hear it and feel it and see it.  Taste it and smell it.  Move your body around as evidence of this fact!  The next three minutes you spend on this will change your life forever! How much you can exalt yourself will indicate to you how much you can exalt others!

And people will notice.

For now, think about times when you've exalted yourself.  Lifted yourself up high and said, "YES!"  Do it now again and again.  Practice it!

You are pure potential.  You know this by now right?  Find your pure intent in everything you do and separate it from your problematic behaviors.  Exalt yourself always!  Always.  Always! All ways.

Yes or no?

Answer these questions yes or no.

1.  Having clarity in my life regarding what I want to achieve while I'm alive is dangerous.

2.  Communicating my needs and desires to certain people is dangerous.  If yes, who?

3.  Arguing is bad.

4.  Being angry is bad.

5.  There is something about me that is incurable.

6.  I'm smart enough.

7.  I'm successful.

Contemplate your answers.  Find out when and where the answers are yes and no.  Be as specific as you can.

Are you consistently late?

Think about this.  Are you often tardy?  Is this your way to avoid pain?  I have this belief (unfounded) that no one is late to the Lotto office with the winning lottery ticket.

Make a list of the places that you are consisitently late.

Job?  Social gatherings?  Business appointments?

Now I know that there is some allure about being fashionably late, but I'm talking about huffing and puffing through the door ten minutes late.  Your hair looks like hell and you're internally rehearsing some sort of puffed up excuse.

I've done it, most people have.

Think about the times in your life when you've done this in the past as a curious observer.  Stay out of the trap of "oh that's bad!"  Just observe.  Follow directions!

Think and consider that people who are consistently late to an event (like a job, meeting, etc.) have some sort of painful association to being at the event.  But this association is not enough to keep you from the event completely because there is an even more powerful painful association to not going at all!

Ever say to yourself, "Well I guess I better go."  You know what I mean.

So I guess the next question is, "Is this anyway to live life?"  Well, it is, but do you want to keep doing it?  There is a (many) way(s) out of it, can you think of it?

We'll talk more soon!

I'm back!

I was down for a couple of days due to some not so technical difficulties!  But we're back and better than ever!

Are you a "screw up" or are you just really great at being a human being?

Most of want to be a good something.  A good husband, wife, plumber, mom, dad or whatever.

And then when we don't measure up, we put ourselves down or get distracted.

What we don't realize is that we are doing a very good job at being a human being.

We are doing human being perfectly!

What do human beings do?   We make mistakes and we judge ourselves harshly for making those mistakes.

And then ultimately say, "I am a bad human being!"

Wrong, you are perfect at being a human being.  You can never get human being wrong!

I realized that I was spending a lot of time hoping that I was going to be a good hypnotist, and believing deep down that I was a not so good hypnotist.

I was doing human very well, so well that I forgot to laugh.

Think about all of the harsh judments we make about humanity.  The judgments haven't changed the behavior right?  Learning how to do something better is how behaviors change.  That's all.  In fact, judgment can get in the way of learning because if all you can think of is what you did way back when, there's no brain juice for what you could do in the future that's different, healthier and way more fun!

As soon as you did something you did it, it 's over!  Smacking your hand and saying, "bad puppy" won't change it and it won't guarantee that it won't happen again right?

Well at least is hasn't yet, but of course you could keep laying the same guilt trips if you want.  Keep not seeing the purple hippo in your mind. Over and over and over.

Or you could breathe and appreciate how awesome you were at being human, and accept all of the judgements and voices and whatever else is going on as part of your experience and deciding if you want different experiences from now on.

Wanting to be a perfect God of Power and Perfection is so awesomely human!  Let's celebrate it.

What do you think?  Want to practice saying over and over, "Wow, I'm amazing at being a human being!" today?  You are, there's no one who does it quite like you!
